Water Treatment Products

When faced with a polluted pond or lake many people reach for the pesticide, algaecide or herbicide. These make a short-term improvement in water clarity but in reality they are only adding to the problem. The dead Phytoplankton, weeds and plants produced by these killers sink to the bottom and add to the already dirty conditions. As they rot they produce Hydrogen Sulfide Gas and Methane Gas, this in turn forces the loss of even more Oxygen from the water, the nutrients released by this rotting process is also an improved breeding ground for a new batch of the same aquatic pest species which caused the problem in the first place.

To this end caringfornature.com has developed a range of products designed to aid and enhance the natural way Nature has dealt with the problem for millions of years

Using a combination of advanced Enzyme technology and mechanical systems, caringfornature are able to produce results here to only dreamed of:

Cleaning process safe for swimmers, boaters and aquatic life.
Removal of Blue-green algae.
Complete Oxygenation of the water.
Toxic gases removed.
Aquatic life has a better food source and a higher quality of habitat.
Destruction of disease causing organisms.
Water clarity improved and odors eliminated.

Enzymes and how they work
What are Enzymes
There are various kinds of protein molecules more commonly called enzymes, they serve to accelerate, or catalyze, the chemical reactions of all living cells. Without enzymes, most biochemical reactions would be too slow to allow the continuous of the life process.
image003.gif

How are they made
The manufacture of these enzymes is regulated by the cell's genetic material, deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), through the process of protein synthesis. The potential of a cell to grow and divide is determined largely by the number of different kinds of enzymes it contains. Certain cells also perform specialized functions, such as transmitting nerve impulses or producing hormones, these are regulated by enzymes. Several hundred different reactions may proceed simultaneously within a single living cell, each action or reaction is catalyzed by one or more enzymes.

Enzymes in action
As an example, carbon dioxide gas is generated from bicarbonate when a bottle of soda is opened. The same chemical reaction occurs just before air is exhaled from the lungs. The un-catalyzed reaction that occurs with a soda bottle, fast as it may seem, would be too slow to sustain life if it occurred in the lungs. The lungs have an enzyme that hastens the reaction. Similarly, without enzymes it might take millions of years for amino acids to spontaneously link together to form protein molecules; all cells, however, contain enzymes capable of catalyzing the synthesis of thousands of protein molecules in a second.

Enzymes differ from inorganic catalysts, such as platinum and palladium, in two important ways; the structure of amino acids in an enzyme molecule is specific to that enzyme and essential to the molecule's catalytic action; each enzyme exerts its action only on specific substances in specific reactions. A non-biological catalyst, by contrast, catalyzes a wide variety of chemical reactions.

Many enzymes contain, in addition to their protein part, a much smaller, non-protein group called a coenzyme. Coenzymes are made up in part of individual vitamins and are essential for enzymatic activity.

The vitamin niacin, for example, is part of a coenzyme for several different enzymes connected with the uptake of oxygen by cells. The action of many drugs has been explained through their inhibition or activation of a particular enzyme. Antibiotics, for example, inhibit a variety of enzymes necessary for bacterial growth. Vitamin B2, or riboflavin, activates a portion of the cell's enzyme canalized uptake of oxygen; and vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, activates enzyme catalyzed reactions involved in the manufacturer of bone and connective tissue.

Natures tools
Enzymes can be isolated and actived outside of the living cell under appropriate conditions. Many enzymes have been isolated and studied. Much is known about their structure, the reactions they promote, and how they function as catalysts. Throughout history, moreover, people have made use of enzyme-catalyzed reactions in which the intact cells are used for such processes as brewing, baking, and antibiotic synthesis.

Isolated enzymes are used every day in the textile, leather, food, and beverage industries. Artificial enzymes called enzyme mimics are also designed and produced for industrial and research purposes.

Without enzymes in our daily lives, this would be a dead planet circling a cold mass of gas.
caringfornature.com
did not invent or even improve Natures natural answer to difficult problems, we have just developed and aided Nature by identifying which of Natures little workers is best suited to the task in hand, forming them into an natural army and thereby speeding up the whole natural process.

WaterCare

INDUSTRIAL WASTE WATER TREATMENT

NON-TOXIC • NON-HAZARDOUS • BIODEGRADABLE • NON-FLAMMABLE
=================================================
ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE!  CONTAINS NO BACTERIA

Nature itself provides us with a natural process to eliminate waste. Bacteria are present everywhere and they slowly digest hydrocarbons, chemical contaminates, fats, oils, greases, feces, decaying matter...bacteria under ideal conditions manufacture their own enzymes which are used to breakdown complex compounds into simple compounds which they can then digest. This is similar to the human digestive system which pre-digests food in the stomach. With a more digestible food source, these bacteria also become more prolific and past lab reports show up to a 4,000 fold increase in beneficial aerobic bacteria in 24 days.

Caringfornature.com treatments biodegrade many times faster than nature can alone. Enzyme treatment involves the dramatic acceleration of natural biodegradition. Specific enzymes introduced into a lake environment will immediately start to breakdown complex compounds into simpler compounds that bacteria can rapidly digest. Our caringfornature.com formula are complimentary and synergistic...after one enzyme breaks down a compound, its by products are further broken down by other enzymes in the formula. This "cascading" effect continues until the theoretical endpoint is carbon dioxide and water.
Enzyme treatment of lakes and ponds is a by-product of years of R&D and practical application in wastewater treatment.

WATERCARE is a proprietary, bio catalytic system of performed enzymes in liquid concentrate form. The product is designed to stimulate and accelerate the natural biological reactions that cause organic substances to decompose.

WATERCARE contains no bacteria of any kind to interfere with or disrupt existing waste treatment systems.

WATERCARE requires no complex or expensive installation, is practically maintenance free, and even optimizes the effectiveness of existing equipment. It is metered into the waste effluent according to the flow of organic contaminate levels, such as biological oxygen demand, suspended solids, fats, oils and greases.

Non-toxic WATERCARE is harmless to humans, animals, marine life or the environment. It is non-irritating to sensitive skin and is non-flammable and non-corrosive.

WATERCARE contains no combustible or corrosive materials. It can be used safely near open flame or in poorly ventilated areas.

WATERCARE contains no known allergens contributory to skin, respiratory or other allergies. It will not impair vision or cause a rash.

WATERCARE is accepted for use in sewage and/or drain lines of establishments operating under US Federal Inspection Programs.

WATERCARE eliminates the unpleasant odors normally associated with decomposing waste materials, is stable with a shelf life of up to two (2) years if stored at temperatures below 120°F.

WATERCARE is available in five (5) gallon and fifty-five (55) gallon non-returnable drums or in tank cars.

Among the unique benefits of the WATERCARE waste water treatment products is the ability of the enzyme formulations to emulsify and micellize fats, oil and grease molecules in high FOG content waste water or grease-trap pump-outs. The formulation also exhibited a high degree of efficiency in setting total suspended solids (TSS) in high FOG laden wastewater.

The following data was generated by a field test conducted under independent supervision and shows the analysis of the wastewater before and after treatment.

Test sample conditions
The wastewater consisted of 3000 gallons of grease-trap pump-out, stored in a 3000 gallon tank truck. Because of the high levels of Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) and the amount of Total Suspended Solids (TSS), the material was classed as too toxic for discharged at a standard landfill. This waste would normally have been discharged at a hazardous waste site - incurring a premium tipping charge. A sample of the contaminated wastewater was taken and analysed.

Method
Fifteen gallons of WATERCARE was added to 150 gallons of water. The full 165 gallons ad-mixture was then poured into the 3000 gallon tank and aerated for 24 hours. No further action was taken and no other product was added. A sample of the “cleaned” wastewater was taken and analysed with following results:

TEST REPORT

Parameter Method Before Treatment After Treatment Analytical Reduction
Fats Oils & Grease 18,000mg/l 160 mg/l 5520 -17,840 mg/l
Total Suspended Solids 19,400 mg/l 410 mg/l 2540 -18.990 mg/l

The results clearly show that WATERCARE unique formulation has a remarkable ability to deal with wastewater heavily laden with high levels of Fats, Oils, Grease and Total Suspended Solids.

SHIPSHAPE

SHIPSHAPE
BILGE WATER TREATMENT

SHIPSHAPE BILGE WATER TREATMENT
SHIPSHAPE is a bio catalytic system of preformed enzymes in a liquid concentrate from which stimulates and accelerates natural biological reactions. When combined with fresh or salt water and oxygen, the product will cause crude oil, jet fuel, diesel oil and other organic substances to rapidly decompose, biodegrading them to carbon dioxide and water as end products.

  • SHIPSHAPE is stable and non-toxic to humans, animals, marine life and plant life. It is 100% biodegradable.
  • SHIPSHAPE works only with the indigenous bacteria. No cultured or foreign bacteria are introduced into the ecosystem.
  • SHIPSHAPE is non-flammable, it will reduce fire hazards by increasing flash points and auto ignition threshold points in substances such as gasoline or fuel oil.
  • SHIPSHAPE eliminates obnoxious odors associated with crude oil, petroleum derivatives and other organic molecules that are proceeding through the natural decomposing process.
  • SHIPSHAPE is fully compatible with most types of application equipment now in use. The product may be easily applied by hand or power sprayers, helicopter, airplane or floating equipment. Its application requires no special safety equipment.

What is SHIPSHAPE bilge water treatment?

SHIPSHAPE bilge water treatment is a member of the caringfornature.com family of enzyme products that have been formulated to specifically catabolize hydrocarbon molecules and the fat, oil and grease features of such molecules.

SHIPSHAPE bilge water treatment is a natural product based on fermentation chemistry and includes additional components formulated for specific, molecular, biochemical roles. The product, in itself, has been designed to be fully biodegradable.

The completed formulation utilizes several families or classes of enzymes some of which are:

Amylase Catalase Esterase Hydrolase Isomerase
Ligase Lipase Lyase Protease Transferase Oxidoreductase

The fermentation chemistry also yields other primary and secondary elements, such as coenzymes, amino acids, vitamins, co-factors, and other essential minerals which provide a micro-nutrient friendly environment to maximize specifically targeted microbial growth stimulation agents and bio-emulsifiers to assist in altering surface chemistry in order to position the enzyme activities in the most favorable molecular embrace.

HOW DOES SHIPSHAPE BILGE WATER TREATMENT WORK?
SHIPSHAPE Bilge Water Treatment has been designed to enhance and greatly accelerate the normal biodegradation cycle that nature has wisely provided. The product breaks down difficult molecular structures, such as hydrocarbons, so that the resultant fatty acids are presented to the indigenous microbial flora in a more easily digestible form. Those bacteria that have specific genetic dispositions to metabolize hydrocarbon fatty acids out compete their less endowed microbial cousins. These genetically expressed hydrocarbon eating microbes will proliferate in a disproportionate number vis-à-vis the other microbes until the hydrocarbon contaminate levels are reduced to non-hazardous levels. At that point the large colonies of specialized microbes will atrophy, for lack of adequate nutrition; and the normal bacterial flora balance will be reestablished.

The enzyme quotient of the formula will accomplish its objective by catalyzing, hydrolyzing, cleaving, oxidizing, molecular rearranging or oxidative coupling reactions - depending on the mechanism required. The indigenous hydrocarbon loving bacteria will further breakdown the complex chemical bonds of the fatty acids to a more easily digestible ketones and oxygen bonds that less specific aerobic bacteria can metabolize. The fats, oils, and grease elements of the hydrocarbon molecules are hydrolyzed initially by the lipase esterase class of enzymes into fatty acids and glycerol. The glycerol, completely miscible in water, is further digested by a sequential cascade of still other enzymes to lower molecular weight compounds. In this case, the end points of the completed enzymatic and bacterial activity are carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O) and simple salts. It should be noted that the enzymes do not degrade or change basic elements (such as sulfur, nitrogen, calcium, etc.), but they often do change the form and nature of the compound in which the basic elements are found. Enzyme chemistry is a relative new discipline. Five thousand enzymes have been identified - four thousand (4000) of these within the last 15 years. It is believed this represents a fraction of the total number of enzymes that exists in nature. Of the known 5000 enzymes identified, less than 300 have been molecularly characterized. While it is extremely difficult to establish the exact enzymatic degradation pathways of specific molecules, we can point to generalizations of a series of reaction types.

REACTION TYPES GENERAL MOLECULAR STRUCTURE
1. Oxidation RO(CH2)nCH2CH2 COOH-RO(CH2)nCOOH
2. Deamination RNH2-ROH
3. Dehalogenation RX-ROH or RX-RH (where X=F, CI, Br, I)
4. Decarboxylation RCOOH-RH
5. Hydroxylation RH-ROH
6. Reduction of Unsaturates RC=CH-RCH=CH2
7. Hydration R2C=CH2-R2CHCH2OH
8. Methyl Oxidation RCH3-RCOOH

WHAT IS THE PRODUCT TARGETED AT?
In this case, the hydrogen family of compounds found in water, soil, and the air is the prescribed target of SHIPSHAPE bilge water treatment. This would include such petroleum-derived products as:

Crude oil, drilling mud, creosote, kerosene,
coal tars, gasoline, diesel, bunker fuels,
lubricating and hydraulic fluids.

Other contaminate groups would include aliphatic compounds, chlorinated aromatic compounds and chlorinated and non-chlorinated phenols.

It has also been shown that the product has unique features in odor elimination of such gasses as hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, mercaptan, and other noxious odors emanating from anaerobic decomposition. The odor degration activity happens in a very short period of time and effectively eliminates volitization of light chain organic molecules, such as BET'X group of petrochemicals, into the atmosphere.

HOW IS SHIPSHAPE BILGE WATER TREATMENT APPLIED?
The product is fully compatible with most types of application equipment now in use. SHIPSHAPE may be easily applied with hand or power sprayers, standard eductor tubes, helicopters, airplane or floating equipment. No special nozzles or hoses are required.

Water or Beach Spills

Reducing the danger of oil reaching the beaches and shore structures is best achieved by spraying the oil slick perimeter with a diluted solution of 10 gallons of bilge water treatment mixed with 150 gallons of seawater or fresh, for each 40,000 square feet of surface area to be treated. If the slick has a heavy consistency, it is recommended that the 1:15 dilute SHIPSHAPE bilge water treatment solution be applied over a three-day period, using one third of the mix solution each day. For best results the product should be applied at a high pressure - generally above 500 psi.

Hydrocarbon Contaminated Soils and Bilges

In general, an application rate of 1 gallon of SHIPSHAPE for each gallon of petroleum contaminate (a ratio 1:1) is required to treat lightly contaminated bilges. A heavy contaminated bilge might require a stronger dosage. Contact your representative for specific custom application rates for the first time users, and for heavily contaminated bilges.

Each treatment site may differ in its requirements and modality of treatment. Factors that can influence the tactical use of Caringfornature.com products are:

    1. Redox Potential
    2. Availability of Nutrients
    3. PH levels
    4. Temperature
    5. Nature and Concentration of Contaminates
    6. Heavy Metals

Should these variables complicate the application and treatment procedures, the SHIPSHAPE bilge water treatment works well with other commonly accepted treatment modalities such as venting, injection aeration, aeration lagoons, and flocculants for removal of heavy metals.

IS THE PRODUCT SAFE?

Extensive independent laboratory testing utilizing accepted standards for dermal, ocular, respiratory effects on human subjects have been performed. Phytotoxicity, bacterial integrity, and aquatic organism safety studies are well documented.

WHAT IS THE SCIENTIFIC DATA?

The successful biodegradation of petroleum is dependent on two factors: Firstly having the enzymes and coenzymes reduce the petroleum to a base form that can be readily assimilated by bacteria, and secondly, stimulating the proliferation of natural occurring non-pathogenic heterotrophic bacteria. Figure 1 demonstrates the ability of SHIPSHAPE bilge water treatment to significantly increase bacterial activity in bay water by 12,857% and ocean water by 14,333%.

Independent laboratory studies from specialists in petroleum technology have qualified the bilge water treatment to dramatically reduce petroleum contaminates. Another benefit of the SHIPSHAPE treatment is its ability to break the matrix that holds suspended metals.

Open cup flash points and auto ignition temperature tests qualify the ability of SHIPSHAPE bilge water treatment to render petroleum products inflammable, and dramatically increase their auto ignition temperatures. SHIPSHAPE bilge water treatment significantly alters the molecular structure thereby dramatically reducing flammability, and the elimination of volatile organic compounds (VOC's) and their odors.

The importance of this feature cannot be overstated in terms of
shipboard safety and survivability.

CONCLUSION
SHIPSHAPE bilge water treatment is the leader in bilge maintenance technology. It is new, safe, fast acting and cost effective. Bilges can be made free of oil, VOC's and noxious odors and dramatically reduced fire hazards.

SoilBond

A natural solution to a natural problem

The devastation left behind after a forest fire has to be seen to be believed, the total loss of all vegetation and the bear scorched earth leaves you with no doubt about the destructive deadly forces of Nature

. A visit to the Grand Canyon will leaves you aware of the moving forces of water, the Colorado River even today moves away 88 tons of rocks and soil out of the Canyon every day. It is calculated that the Canyon will be another 1000 feet deeper in about 20,000 years from now.

Nature has established a number of partnerships to control these forces, the roots of plants feed off the soil but the roots also holds the soil together, stopping the wind and rain from washing the soil away. Yet another example of the natural balance maintained by Mother Nature everyday. The problems start when the imbalances made by man affect the delicate eco-systems. The changing weather patterns and greenhouse effect has made the problems far worst than ever before.

After a forest fire nature try's to re-establish the plants to secure the earth and stop the rains eroding the lands. For years man has helped in all kinds of ways:

The application of a "Mulch" is an idea that has been around for a very long time and it is this that at first makes the idea seem plausible, however, the problems start to reveal themselves very quickly after the "Mulch" has been laid. The weather can and often does play a major part in the choice of treatment, Mulch and slurry are greatly affected by wind, rain and temperature changes. Add to that the unevenness of the distribution of the product and the limited controls that can be administered and you can in fact create a larger problem than the one you first started with.

Subject to the weather conditions within a region, the life span of this "Mulch" solution can be as little as 4-6 weeks, add to that the likelihood of another fire and even that can be shortened. This will put you right back at square one. Another problem with "Mulch" is that it can and often does slow down Natures natural answer to soil erosion, that of plant growth. That is why caringfornature.com uses SoilBond this is another of Natures natural answers to the problem, an army of enzymes working away building a bond between each grain of soil and joining it to its neighbour, with the added benefit of allowing water to still penetrate and normal plant growth is not restricted or impaired in any way. Plant growth through Mulch breaks up the ground surface and destroys the protective covering.

SoilBond has no problem with growth and allows the plant life a free and natural growth pattern without loss of stability in the soil area around the plant in fact it aids the root stability and supports the plant during its early and venerable stage of development. Some Mulch formulas can and often do become another fuel source for future fires. SoilBond penetrates the surface and is also unaffected by UV rays and high temperature range changes.

SoilBond is easy to control in its delivery; it is both cost effective and completely safe for all life on earth. Existing plants and trees are not affected and the treated ground area is stabilized up to a depth of 6" forming the soil in to a hard crust that is able to repel the weathering effects found in even the harshest kind of climate.

The life span of the protection provide by SoilBond will be from 12 to 18 months subject only to the dilution factor used during treatment. This in turn gives Nature a long term helping hand, enabling natural growth and development to sustain a healthy growing environment for the regions plants and animals.

If you are looking for a product to secure an area of soil then these are the kind of questions you need answering before you buy.

Example of testimonial letters

Southern California Edison Company

Alamitos Generating Station
690 North Studebaker Road
Long Beach, California 90830

Dear Sir:

As you know some time ago Alamitos Generating Station purchased some of your Industrial Deodorizer. We purchased it in order to fight a rather unusual problem. A couple of times a year we have to dredge our circulating water intake area to remove silt and mussels that build up in that area. Before the landfill will agree to take the dredge debris and mussels they stipulate that the mussels must be completely dry and free of odor.

To accomplish this, after the mussels have been dredged from the intake, they are spread out over a large area and allowed to dry. As you can imagine, as these mussels dry out in the hot sun they admit a substantial odor. We began using your enzyme odor control to combat the odor emanating from the drying mussels.

Your product proved to be very successful at controlling the odor. In addition, your product helped to significantly accelerate the decomposition and drying out of the mussels. The product was simple to apply, requiring only an application or two a day to control the odors.

Since the initial application, we have used your product on several other occasions on drying mussels and it has proved successful every time. I shudder to think about the odor we would have had to suffer through if wasn't for your product. Thank you for your timely and cooperative support in our efforts.

Sincerely,
Eric Pendegraft
Performance Engineer

NATURAL BIOLOGICAL ROAD BASE STABILIZER FOR CLAY BASED MATERIAL

What is ROAD TECH 2000

ROAD TECH 2000 is a natural biological product which is used as a stabilizer in the construction or maintenance of roads using locally available materials.
ROAD TECH 2000 is a liquid based on specially selected natural occurring microbes that consumes the organic materials present in soils and exudes a natural polymer that effectively binds the soil particles together.

The polymer than displaces the water between the clay platelet, significantly reducing the clay's ability to re-absorb moisture. One of the significant benefits of this microbial interaction is the microbe's capacity to move down through the soil's profile beyond the treated depth and increasing the road's load bearing capacity. For example when the treatment is applied at depth of 150mm is normal for the microbes to go beyond 240mm in depth.

The binding action also makes the soil particles hydrophobic, reducing the effect of water on both the road surface and the base course material.

USES AND ADVANTAGES

ROAD TECH 2000 is used in the construction and maintenance of roads where local materials are not of the optimum quality for road construction, but the use of imported materials to upgrade the road base is not economical.

The uses of Road Tech 2000 are unlimited, some examples where it is currently being used are:
  • Rural and secondary roads
  • Mining roads
  • Temporary by-pass roads
  • Dairy tracks
  • Sub-base preparation for asphalt sealing
  • Forestry roads
  • Airstrips and helipads
  • Feedlots
  • Road shoulders on existing asphalt roads
  • Construction site
    access roads
  • Landfill sites
  • Parking lots

The use of ROAD TECH 2000 in road construction and road maintenance offers many advantages over conventional road sealing methods.
The main advantages include:

  • The microbial action of ROAD TECH 2000 results in a very low dosage rate being needed, making the product very cost effective for the end user.
  • All the ingredients are completely natural so ROAD TECH 2000 does not have any adverse effect on the environment.
  • Homogeneous stabilization is achieved by the ability of the microbes to permeate through the road surfacing material.
  • No specialized equipment is needed. ROAD TECH 2000 is applied during the normal watering process carried out during road construction or repair.
  • After treatment with ROAD TECH 2000 the road surface does not become slippery during wet weather or produce dust during dry and windy weather.
  • The lifespan of the Road greatly increased.
  • The stabilized surface is comparable with and able to support standard asphalt sealing coats.
DUST REDUCTION

Because of its unique microbial design, ROAD TECH 2000 reduces dust residue on all treated surfaces. Not only is it environmentally friendly, it is also community friendly. Surveys of passed installations have shown savings of up to 220% on normal maintenance costs over a two-year period and the number of local resident's complaints about dust reduced from 200 per year, prior to the application of ROAD TECH 2000 to Zero after treatment.

ROAD STABILIZATION

Designed for use on all clay types, it guarantees exceptional road stabilization, increased road bearing strength, prolongs the life of the road surface and substantially reduces soil erosion.

REDUCE MAINTENANCE

ROAD TECH 2000 has proven over the last 2.5 years of continual use, that maintenance costs are dramatically reduced and higher load-bearing capabilities along with a significant increased the lifespan of the road.

NO SPECIALIST EQUIPMENT

ROAD TECH 2000 requires no special machinery, no addition specialised operator training. The product is simply to use, just add the product to a water truck and apply. The only requirement is you bring the road material up to optimum moisture content.

REDUCE PREMIUM GRAVEL USE

ROAD TECH 2000 allows users to take advantage of local gravel with a high clay content, this grade of product is not generally used in the normal road making process. The ability to reduce or eliminate the need for high cost premium grade gravel and all the transportations costs amount to substantial savings in both time, labour, equipment and product costs.

COVERAGE

When applied at the typical rate of 1 litre per 3 cubic meters the coverage achieved by ROAD TECH 2000 is:

30 square meters per litre at 100 mm depth

At this application rate:
A road 6.1 meters wide treated to a depth of 100 mm will require approximately:

200 litres of ROAD TECH 2000 per kilometre

Turning a mud bath like this... Into a road fit for the year 2000
waterbuffW.jpg chinadpmtrkW.jpg chinawtrtrkW.jpg chinagraderW.jpg

The financial savings are impressive and allow the end user to continue to do more for less capital outlay.

To appreciate the reality of this process, consider the following example for the normal preparation of a one-kilometre stretch of dirt road:

5711 Tons of gravel (base), One truck can haul approximately 18 tons per load

That is 318 truck loads

Normal wear-tear and fuel for trucks at 1.5 hours per trip x 318 trips

$10-12.00 average hourly wage for truck drivers

$12.00 average wage for road grader and hydro-pac roller

5711 tons of gravel at 4.75 ton = $27,127.25 gravel (base)

USING ROAD TECH 2000

The wear and tear on trucks =$0
Wages for truck drivers =$0
Base gravel costs =$0

Can you see the picture coming together?

The elimination of the six-inch gravel base and the savings associated with the trucks and drivers are significant. $27,127.00 versus $12,450.00.

That's a saving of $14,677.00

ROAD COSTING EVALUATION
(Based on Australian Conditions)

The cost of a bituminous spray seal on top of a stabilized road, a 2 coat spray with a 10mm gravel chip rolled in, is approximately USD$4.50 per square meter extra. Annual maintenance then will be even further reduced, provided the sub-base has been stabilized.

FURTHER DEVELOPMENTS

In Australia trials with sandy gavels with a 20% mixture of clay added, were then stabilized using ROAD TECH 2000. This resulted in up to a 60% reduction in routine maintenance cost. The extended life of the road surface can dramatically reduce the need to resurface the road, thereby making savings worth thousands of dollars per kilometre of road.

SUITABLE MATERIALS FOR TREATMENT WITH
ROAD TECH 2000

Most gravel and calcareous based materials with plastic index of six (6) or more are suitable. The percentage of fines (passing the 0.425 sieve) of at least 20% produce the best results, and the clay fractions of these fines should be 30% or more.

The product will not work with a pH of above 8, a weak acid solution can be sprayed on the road materials before treatment with ROAD TECH 2000 to adjust pH.

ROAD TECH 2000 personnel can assess the materials to be treated for the initial evaluation of the project. Sound engineering principals regarding road construction materials should always be followed. The particle distribution curve should be uniform to provide properly bound pavement materials.

ROAD TECH 2000 can also be used effectively in the preparation of the sub-grade in the construction of bitumen sealed roads. The application of ROAD TECH 2000 will stabilise clay material to a strength which is suitable to lay gravel, bitumen, asphalt or concrete. The use of ROAD TECH 2000 in this instance reduces the problem of water accumulating and causing pressure under the main road surface thus reducing the causes of road degradation.

ROAD TECH 2000 has also been successfully used to treat shoulders in the construction of main roads resulting in a stable and firm extension of the traffic surface.

Experience has shown that most materials are suitable for use with ROAD TECH 2000 Stabilizer.

WEED-IT 4-WC

Aquatic Vegetation and Habitat Control

Gently restoring Natures own balance….

An improper balance of Aquatic vegetation interferes with man's ability to appreciate and enjoy water. Nature also has a hard time supporting a diversity of wetland habitats when confronted by an invasion of exotic aquatic weeds biologically polluting our wetland areas. These invasive plants also interfere native wildlife, fish populations and property values.

Caringfornature.com has the answer to all these problems:

WEED-IT 4-WC
Aquatic Vegetation Control

Weed-it 4-WC selectively manages problem weeds for a year or even longer and all with minimal risk to the environment.
Weed-it 4-WC's action makes our waters enjoyable again, Fish stocks improve, and indigenous wildlife returns and property values are restored. The water can be enjoyed by all even immediately after application, Weed-it 4-WC will not restrict swimming, fishing or even drinking.

No other aquatic herbicide gives you this
degree of flexibility

As more and more of the countryside is developed and population increases our water systems are being placed under great pressure. A large number of aquatic plants have monopolised this situation and have become a serious ecological and economic problem.

Years of clearing and farming the land have changed the rate of nutrient runoff. Fertilizer, sewage and industrial waste have thrown some neutral water bodies out of balance and accelerated the growth of undesirable aquatic vegetation.

Some native vegetation is essential as a source of oxygen, food and habitat for aquatic life.

However, once exotic plants such as Eurasian water milfoil or hydrilla infest a water body, the natural balance is disturbed.

Over Dominance by exotic plant populations can destroy valuable wetlands habitat diversity and the associated wildlife.

Undesirable vegetation can clog intake screens and turbines used in the production of hydroelectric power.

Noxious weeds can provide a breeding site for insects and other disease vectors. They can impact unpleasant taste, odor and color to drinking water. They hinder navigation in shipping lanes, restrict recreational activities, cause property values to drop and restrict water flow in irrigation canals and drainage ditches.

As the need for clean water has become increasingly significant, the need for effective aquatic plant management in our waterways has become critical. There are several methods of aquatic plant management:

Mechanical harvesting,
Biological control,
Environmental changes
and
Aquatic herbicidal control.

The method or methods selected are determined by the particular use of the water body, by available resources and by government regulations.

Mechanical Harvesting
Mechanical harvesting and dredging have been used for many years. However, these methods are slow, non-selective, costly and time-consuming. Harvesting can aggravate the problem by dispersing plant fragments, which can form new plants. Results rarely last more than a few months.

Biological Control
Another aquatic plant management method involves the use of biological control agents. These included the introduction of herbivores, insects or pathogens into the aquatic environment. Their use is generally restricted in many areas because of long-term effects they might have on native plant species.

Lake Draw downs
Another control option is to conduct a lake draw down. In this de-watering process, the water level is allowed to drop so exposed plants can dry or freeze, depending on timing. The draw down is an old concept that has met with good success in controlling certain aquatic native plants. But often a draw down doesn't give long-term control of hard-to-control exotic species like Eurasian water milfoil. Draw downs are not used to manage hydrilla. This plant produces underground tubers which are protected from drying or freezing conditions, so you may have gone to great expense and inconvenience for no long-term results.

Integrated Approach
We need to control the undesirable plant life without harming the desirable plant and animal life. Ideally, aquatic plant management should be a combination of methods that work harmoniously with the environment.

Weed-it 4-WC's. Mode of Action
Many native aquatic plants are tolerant to fluridone (the active ingredient in Weed-it 4-WC's and show little or no impact following treatment. Fortunately, the exotic submerged species, hydrilla, Eurasian water milfoil and curly leaf pondweed have proven to be highly susceptible to this unique product. Fluridone inhibits the plant's ability to make food. Without that ability, the plant dies. Specifically, fluridone inhibits carotenoid synthesis.

Where Weed-it 4-WC's Works and What to Expect Weed-it 4-WC's controls target weeds in almost any body of water including lakes, reservoirs, ponds, canals and rivers.

During the typical treatment season, it takes 30 to 90 days for Weed-it 4-WC's to work. Susceptible plants absorb Weed-it 4-WC's through their leaves, shoots, and from the hydro soil by way of the roots. Within a short period (seven to ten days) injury symptoms begin to appear. Susceptible weeds will start to show chlorosis, an abnormal plant condition characterised by an absence or deficiency of green pigment. Target plants turn either pink or white.

Weed-it 4-WC's controls water weeds slowly and allows other beneficial native vegetation to re-establish, without oxygen deprivation or fish kill.

Weed-it 4-WC's control lasts a year or longer depending on the environment conditions.

Weed-it 4-WC's selectivity lets desirable aquatic plants become re-established.

Yet, as effective as Weed-it 4-WC's is on target waterweeds, it won't restrict swimming, fishing or drinking, even immediately after application.

Results that can be expected from Weed-it 4-WC's are:

Selectivity,
No fish kills,
Long-term control,
Ease of application,
Uniform distribution,
No restriction of water use,
Minimal risk of environmental side effects.

While
Weed-it 4-WC
cleans out the water,
it gently restores nature's own balance.

J-Flo Diffusers

I. J-FLO DIFFUSERS

J-Flo Systems, Inc. manufacturers micro-bubble, laminar flow, inversion diffusers which, when properly placed in eutrophic lakes and ponds, accelerates natures natural oxygenation process called inversion. Through micro-bubble technology the J-Flo diffusers safely and harmlessly transfer the oxygen starved anaerobic bottom water to the lake surface where it releases its toxic gasses and absorbs oxygen before returning to the bottom where its higher oxygen content stimulates the biodegradation of the organic muck and toxic gasses.

The non-clogging 20 micron porosity ceramic diffusers are corrosion proof, have no moving parts and are engineered to perform at 100% with only 6 cubic feet of air per minute.

The J-Flo Model Q-8 is designed for ponds less than four feet in depth.

The J-Flo Model Q-12 is designed for depths up to 36 feet and is capable of moving 120,000 gallons of water to the surface each hour with an oxygen transfer rate between 5.9 and 12.0 pounds per compressor horsepower hour.

J-FLo diffusers do not create water turbulence.

II. AIR COMPRESSORS
For installations less than 5 horse power oil less Rotary Vane Compressors with Teflon-impregnated graphite, rotary vanes are recommended. Rotary vane compressors are available in _ to 1 hp, 1½ to 2 hp and from 3 to 5 hp. Larger compressor applications must be factory approved. Our Compressors come in a variety of voltages to accommodate the end users available electric supply. Installation accessories include: one to six valve air manifold outlets, pressure relief valves, air filters w/replacement cartridges, mufflers, pressure gauges and replacement parts.

III. AIR HOSE AND COUPLINGS
A variety of air hose options are available depending on the installation. Smooth bore, high density, self sinking, flexible hose capable of 11.04 Bars (160 psi) working pressure in standard lengths of 500 ft. Vermin resistant polyethylene air tubing is not self-weighted and requires 3-hole red clay bricks (not included) which should be attached with brick ties at 6 ft. intervals. For lakes and ponds with alligators an anti-alligator resistant non-corrosive, metal wrapped polyethylene hose is available. Fittings and connectors include hose-to-compressor, hose-to-hose and hose-to-diffuser. Other fittings include T's, L's, friction fittings, couplings, and stainless steel hose clamps. A ¾" check valve is included with each diffuser and is used to prevent water from entering the air hose when compressor is not in operation.

IV. STEEL AND FIBERGLASS CABINETS
Four weatherproof steel cabinets are available to house and protect the air compressors. Each cabinet is equipped with cooling fans, electric receptacles and bottom outlet holes.
Model C-1 houses one compressor.
Model C-2 houses one large compressor.
Model C-3 houses two compressors.
Model C-4 houses up to four compressors (either vane or piston type).
Green is the standard color with sound proofing optional. All cabinets feature standard built-in locks. A fiberglass option is also available in all sizes.

J-FLO and caringfornature.com Continuous Laminar Flow Inversion/Oxygenation System.

J-FLO Systems and caringfornature.com are pioneers of advanced lake restoration technologies. Using our integrated approach, combining the latest mechanical equipment and advanced enzyme technology. We have improved over a thousand lakes, rivers, and reservoirs in the United States and overseas.

We offer the only comprehensive, environmentally sound and cost effective management approach to lake restoration and water quality management. Our integrated program
provides a long-term
solution to water quality problems using natural processes.

We call the most important part J-Flo's unique process the Continuous Laminar Flow Inversion/Oxygenation System. This energy efficient process oxygenates an entire body of water from the top to the bottom. It oxygenates the water and rids the entire bottom of gases including ammonia and carbon dioxide, which aquatic weeds and algae need for food.

Independent reports have shown that J-Flo's natural inversion system transfers up to 0.9Kg of oxygen per kilowatt-hour in lakes and canals. Oxygen transfer for the J-Flo system is as high as 4.4Kg per kilowatt-hour in waste treatment lagoons. The same report has also shown other diffused air systems transfer as little as 0.2.4Kg per kilowatt-hour.

One Model Q-12, J-Flo diffuser, moves 2,000-gallons of water from the bottom of a lake to the surface every sixty (60) seconds.

Propeller-aspirator types, surface aerators, hypo-limnetic aerators, or paddle-wheels are not designed to move bottom water to the surface. If they were used for that purpose, they would create considerable turbulence and nutrient recycling from the bottom muck
creating more problems than they solve.

J-FLO Continuous Laminar Flow
Inversion/Oxygenation System.

The overall chemical and biological benefits of J-FLO's integrated restoration program are:
+ Reduction of bottom organic sediments
+ Less weeds and algae
+ Improved water quality, higher transparency
+ Fish kill prevention
+ Improved health and growth of fish
+ Self-cleaning diffuser
+ Less pathogenic bacteria
You will find these advantages in the J-FLO System that you do not find in other aeration systems.
+ Maximum flow possible
+ Complete treatment surface to bottom
+ Maximum energy saving
+ Superior results for water quality
+ Elimination of foul odors
+ Non-turbulent flow
